Covering aspects of local history relating to the areas of Downend, Mangotsfield, Staple Hill and the newer surrounding districts such as Emerson's Green. These areas lie in South Gloucestershire just to the north of the city of Bristol, England.

We are primarily interested in the districts, and how they have developed, rather than the personal histories of the inhabitants.  Please see Contacts and Other Links if you are doing research into local families other than prominent ones.
